I managed documentation for four applications that work together to make a single product function. Information was scattered across twenty years of release notes, Confluence, Jira tickets, PDFs, webinars, Salesforce tickets, and Slack conversations. I sorted, edited, and migrated that content to a help site while keeping up with monthly releases and new product features.

Challenges

  • Large backlog scattered across decades of records.
  • Documenting multiple applications.
  • Revising topics impacted by new product features.

Methods

  • Prioritized content by topics connected to new features, most-used functions, and PO input.
  • Used Smartsheet to track individual applications and How-To site overall.
  • Created checklists with each release to ensure all related documentation is updated.
